Rob Garza

His two-man band has been one of the most acclaimed indie bands over the last 10 years, mining elements of dub, acid jazz, reggae and bossa nova, among other styles. We’re thrilled to have Rob join us at the Vibes this year for what promises to be an enchanting performance for certain.

As one half of electronic music pioneers/producers Thievery Corporation, he has been at the forefront of music for over a decade and a half, traveling the globe performing, remixing, djing, recording and composing.

Since Garza’s recent relocation to San Francisco, he has begun a re-exploration of his love for electronic music and beats focusing on Nu-Disco, Cosmic Boogie, and Deep House while keeping very groove oriented and outer-national based rhythms.

He has been djing and remixing, taking things to an even more spaced out and trippy level. 2012 has been a busy year rocking audiences everywhere from Hong Kong, Robot Heart at Burning Man, Shambhala, and Bali. Recently he has remixed, Tycho, Miguel Migs, and Blondie among others.
