John Fogerty and Widespread Panic will headline this summer’s Gathering of the Vibes Festival. Now in its 19th year, the festival will return to Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut for four nights of music from Thursday, July 31 to Sunday, August 3.
“John Fogerty is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a living legend, and he’s been on our dream list for years,” remarked Ken Hays, festival founder, in a press release. “Widespread Panic is another band that we’ve long sought to play at the Vibes. I’m psyched to have them as a headliner, and I know the VibeTribe feels the same way!”
Other highlights on tap for Gathering of the Vibes are Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Rodrigo y Gabriela, Ziggy Marley, Maceo Parker, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Slightly Stoopid. The Connecticut festival is known both for honoring the legacy of the Grateful Dead and for its unique collaborations. This year is no exception. Festival favorites Keller Williams, Jeff Austin of Yonder Mountain String Band and Reed Mathis of Tea Leaf Green are teaming up as “Grateful Grass”, while Grateful Dead percussionists and current Rhythm Devils leaders Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann will join forces with The Disco Biscuits for a set.

In total, Gathering of the Vibes will host nearly fifty bands over four days on multiple stages located throughout the historic and scenic 370-acre beachfront venue along Long Island Sound.
