I am in CA and have my medical card. I am not voting for this. You know why? There are no provisions for keeping medicine affordable for the terminally ill. Those AIDS patients in Oakland who started the movement and spent their dying days in jail...no provisions for people like them.
It's really effed up and I seem to be the only person who it even bothers.
I asked CALNORML that and a light bulb went off in their head. I can;t beieve the MJ community is just so selfish it never crossed their minds. Some advocacy group!
I am actually voting replublican this election on all my state officials, for the first time ever. The lefties are too kooky here. No water for families and tons of poor, but lets protect a sardin sized fish. CA is going to collapse very soon.

Thanks for your response. I am surprised there are not more people chiming in on this one.

I am not familiar with how the current system under prop 215 is keeping this medicine affordable for the terminally ill. Do dispensaries give discounts to terminally ill patients? Does their health insurance cover the costs? Do the terminally ill pay the same price for a brownie as everyone else with a medical card? I don't understand how this new proposition would adversely affect the affordability of this medicine for the terminally ill when they can just grow it themselves or have a friend/family member do it for them. I am sure it has something to do with the government tax and regulate issue, so please enlighten me.

I get very upset when I think about anyone, healthy or sick, losing their unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness due to non violent offenses created by cannabis prohibition. You are not alone.

The political system is a money system plain and simple. Until you remove the money from politics, the people are irrelevant. Voting Republican, Democrat, Green, Independent doesn't matter one iota, these candidates are beholden to their campaign financiers. When is the last time you paid $500 a plate to support your government "representative." I know I don't go to those fund raisers, and either do most Americans. Who attends these events? Who are the biggest contributors to political campaigns? Do these contributors just support candidates from one party, or do they play the field and hedge their bets? My point is, it doesn't make a difference who you vote into office, your voice isn't heard when you don't have a seat at the table. If you want water for families and good paying jobs to be a priority over protecting sardine sized fish, you need to contribute more money then those advocating for the fish.

I think this issue deserves more discussion. I would love to hear more from you or from anyone else. I hope this reply doesn't come off as an attack on you bella, that is not my intention. My intent is to bring this issue into the light for all to see and discuss openly.

I don't know anything about this...but taxing it is the 1st step in legitimizing it and making it legal for everyone...I would think if it is considered legit....insurance co.s would then cover it no? leagal MJ...
