I've been unusually tired lately, my breast are really tender, I'm moody, and I've been throwing up randomly for the past few Weeks now.
Every home pregnancy test I took when I was pregnant with Cole came out negative. So I don't really trust taking one. I have a doctors appointment in February. So I'm going to get a test done there....

I am going crazy over here. But I don't have time to go to the doctors before February

K, that would be so excited! What does Dave think?!?
On a side note, if you're not and you're not on BC or don't want to go on BC, check out www.fertilityfriend.com It's what I've been using for the past year to track my cycle and avoid getting preggo :)

Wow! Sounds like a baby in there to me. If I were you I'd try another home test just to see if it works this time. There's a good one out there that is digital and reads Pregnant or Not Pregnant- seems pretty fool proof to me!! Plus it sounds like if you've been sick for a few weeks, it's late enough that you shoudl get a correct positive (if so).

it may be tiring, having another baby now, but just think! they'll be close enough in age to entertain each other in about 2 years! my girl is 5 now, so if we get pregnant anytime soon, i'm looking at a 6 year age difference. at least we'd have a built in babysitter in a few years!

Here's the thing, I took 5 home pregnancy tests when I was pregnant with Cole. the last one I took I was 3 months pregnant and it still came out negative.
(all five came out negative)

That is really strange- I've never heard anything like it. Did your Dr. say anything about why that may have happened??
Those tests aren't cheap either so you might be smart to just wait it out.

I think its mean to expect your other kids to babysit.

it was a joke, kimmy. i was overexaggerating the difference in age.
i think it's also ridiculous to make an assumption based on 3 sentances and then to pass judgement on that assumption. ;)

Why? I feel like it's almost like a family chore if the ages work out well. Babysit, earn money and/or allowance.
Why? I feel like it's almost like a family chore if the ages work out well. Babysit, earn money and/or allowance.
because of the way I've seen it used. It's one thing to say
"Oh, Crap. 10 minutes till dinner and I'm out of rice. Would you please watch your sister while I run to the store?"
and then there is:
"No, you can't go out this weekend. You have to watch your siblings while your father and I go out" and have it happen every weekend.
I have Aidan and Karys. I made the decision to have them. Aidan didn't, and it's not his job to give up his social life to babysit his sister. It is my job as the parent to arrange care for her if I want to go out. (me talking in the future tense, they are 7 and 4 at the moment) Once in a while, it's fine, but I've seen it abused first hand. ((esp. in remarriages with 1/2 siblings, OY!))

No she didn't say anything when I told her how many I took. But when she came back with the blood tests she was like well, you know your body... you're pregnant.
Lil Mama ~ My Mom got neg preg tests with me all the way up to the 5th month! It took a blood test. Maybe your body for some reason doesn't dump the hcG into your urine?

to assume i meant i EXPECT her to babysit is just silly though.
many tween girls WANT to babysit, since it's one way to make money before they're legally able to get a job.
she will be a 1/2 sibling, but to think all families that aren't "traditional" neglect to treat all children equally is also ridiculous.
opinions are like assholes, so they say....
Slave, perhaps it is your reputation as a rabble rouser? :funny1:

so.... you're saying i should allow her out of the basement for more than just babysitting courses and foot rubbing lessons 3 times a week??? :D

I was talking about from what I'VE seen. step, 1/2, bio whatever.
To me (and this is my opinion) it is certainly one thing to say "hey, wanna make some $? I need a babysitter for your sister/brother this friday night" and give the kid the option of saying "yes" or "no". But to expect it without fail and without consulting the kid (which is a lot of what I've seen) is just wrong IMO.
I have a really good friend from way back who's parents got divorced when we were in 5th grade. Her Dad got remarried when we were in 7th grade, Dad and new wife had new baby. My friend pretty much disappeared. She wasn't a kid, she was a built in Nanny. She turned 18 and took off and doesn't have a thing to do with her Dad, SM or 1/2 sibs. In fact, she doesn't want kids at all because she says she spent her childhood raising other peoples kids.
I guess maybe because I was so close for that, it hits home so hard for me.

You're way too kind. I expect nothing short of slave labor when they get older.

Isn't that why we had 'em?? (I kid, I kid)
Ravn- you make some great points and I forget that not everyone is a concientious (sp?) and kind parent who wouldn't take advantage of an older child. Of course I agree with you that it's one thing to say "watch your brother for 5 minutes while I run to the store" or arrange something for a rare evening out (and being paid for it), and another to stick them with their sibling every minute of the day. :undecided: Your poor friend- I would have done exactly the same thing she did once I turned 18.
I certainly see nothing wrong with the occasional babysitting of a younger sibling as long as it's not abused by the parent. In my mind it's kind of like a chore. Everyone contributes something to the household in whatever way he or she is able to.

apprantly. Now, who knows about the tests back then (I was born in Nov of 76). But she stopped having her period, and she took a test, and it was neg, so she thought it was stress, then she was SICK, and they didn't think to do a pg test, b/c she told them about the negative hpt. So for 4 months they told her she had the FLU! Finally around the 5th month of no period, and the "flu" she went to a specialist obgyn in DuBois, and he said "you're pregnant!" to this day, she introduces me ",,,and this is my flu,," :funny1:

With Karys, I knew I was pregnant before I even missed my period. I was at the UU church in Albany, helping with the Garage Sale. I was leaning over putting pricing stickers on stuff, and when I stood up, the room spun and I landed on my butt. The preachers wife said "are you ok?" and I said "Oh, I'm fine. But apparently, I'm pregnant!"
