(the reason there's a plane pic at the end is b/c we hit a deer in montana & therefore had to take a 31 hour bus ride to chicago to rent a car to get to rothbury. after that, we flew home & i eventually had to fly back out to montana to get my car back. sucked financially, but def. made it more of an adventure!)

Wow dude, good picts... I use to live in OB back in around 93 and 94. That was a kick ass town back then, just one giant party. We stopped down there a couple years ago and its a little differant. I couldnt belive they put a cop sub station in the parking lot of the peir

Were are the desert picts from? Moab or Canyonlands?

yea, probably the best thing about OB is winstons. we caught the jerry garcia band (seems funny to still call them that...) the time before, & the electric waste band this time.
the cops usually don't bother anyone, and it almost feels good to have them there b/c i heard there's a lot of 'white power' idiots who hang out on the beach there.
either way, my <3 belongs to northern cali!

desert pics... we hit up arches, bryce & zion on this past trip. i've been to most of the parks out there though. i absolutely love it there. i live in jersey, so to be in the middle of the desert at night & look up at the stars... no words can describe that! :)

Arches rocks, its about 7 hour drive from me. I do a lot of off roading over there.

my father in law lives part time in slab city. He is nomadic and travels in the summers, slab city in the winters.

i only knew of it from 'into the wild'.

that's where i first heard of leonard knight & salvation mountain too.
then i saw him in a few documentaries about the salton sea.

it was very surreal meeting him. such a beautiful soul.

definitely an amazing time. we left just b4 memorial day weekend & hit up summercamp, and ended up home a little after rothbury. guess it was just under 2 months.

so many amazing things on the trip. like nakey hot springs @ esalen, all the random camping spots, all the nat'l parks, meeting up w/ our friends in CO & CA, watching LOST on the laptop in the tent, etc..

but i think the main theme of the trip was 'searching for the sound'. my gf bought me the audiobook in boulder & we listened to it on the way out to cali. ( we <3 phil! )
and then the last set at rothbury was phil & friends. such an amazing show & we were both in tears for a few songs. : P :rose:
