Weekend Camping Pass

What does the Weekend Camping Pass include? Do I need another ticket to get into the concert area?

Your Weekend Camping Pass enables you to camp, see all the music on every stage – including the Late Night Stage – plus all the vendors, roaming performers, and good times the Vibes has to offer. If you want to come in and start camping on Thursday, please read the “Thursday Arrival” section below.

Is the Weekend Camping Pass per vehicle? Or per person?

Everyone in your vehicle must have their own Weekend Camping Pass to enter the venue. Weekend Camping Passes will be on sale at the gates, provided we do not sell out.

I want to stay in a hotel, do I need to purchase a Weekend Camping Pass?

Well, that depends! If you want to attend the Vibes on Thursday or stay after the Main Stage closes for ANY of the Late Night Stage acts, you will need to purchase the Weekend Camping Pass. You also need a Weekend Camping Pass if you want to visit any of your friends’ campsites. However, if you just want to attend Fri, Sat & Sun during the day, leave after the Main Stage closes, and not enter the campgrounds, you may purchase Single-Day Tickets. Rock on, either way!

I only want to camp for one night. Do I still need to purchase the whole Weekend Camping Pass?

If you want to camp for even just one night, you must purchase a Weekend Camping Pass. We do not have one-night camping options but, take our word for it, once you are camped, you will want to stay!

Thursday Arrival: Early-Entry Parking Fee

Tell me about the Thursday Early-Entry fee. What’s the deal?

For Weekend Campers we offer Thursday entry as a bonus day to come in and get set-up. If you choose to take advantage of this, you will be charged an additional $20 per VEHICLE parking fee on site. This is in addition to your Weekend Camping Pass. If you have a VIP Weekend Camping Pass, early entry is already included, so no extra charge. Early entry ends at Midnight on Thursday night (into Friday morning). EVERYONE in the car must have a Weekend Camping Pass.

If you walk, ride a bike, skate board or catch a bus or taxi into the Vibes, then there is no additional parking fee! BUT you must have a Weekend Camping Pass for Thursday, regardless.

VIP

I’m thinking about going VIP this year. What does this include?

It includes so much! We streamline your arrival through a separate vehicle entrance with a fraction of the wait, catered lunch Fri-Sun in the VIP tent, free snacks, beverages and discounted beer throughout the weekend. Make yourself at home at the VIP tent, equipped with comfy couches, a stage side viewing platform, flush toilets, and general respite from all kinds of weather. We aim to make the Vibes great for everyone, VIP is just, well, a little cushier. Please follow this link for a complete description of the VIP Package.

Last year you sold Single-Day VIP Tickets. Are you doing that again this year?

You may purchase VIP Single-Day Tickets for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is no Thursday VIP Single-Day Ticket. Your VIP Single-Day Ticket gives you all the benefits of VIP but does not include access to the campgrounds nor Thursday Early-Entry.

Single-Day Tickets

And this Single-Day Ticket, what does it get me?

Your Single-Day Ticket offers you access to all areas of the venue except for the campgrounds. Also, Single-Day Tickets do not permit access to the Late Night Stage. You may enter the venue at 10:00AM the day of your ticket and you must leave after the Main Stage music ends that night.

So, do I have to leave immediately after the Main Stage music ends?

Well not immediately after the Main Stage music ends. Please feel free to check out the vendors on the Main Stage concert field and hang out for a bit, but we ask that everyone leaves within an hour after the Main Stage music ends. If you do stay for a bit, please be aware that the Main Stage concert field is closing down and you will not have access to the Late Night Stage nor the campgrounds. Taxis and shuttles are available just outside the main gate.

Can I purchase a Single-Day Ticket for just Thursday?

We hate to say, “No,” to you but you may not buy a “Thursday-Only” ticket. Only Weekend Camping Pass holders get in on Thursday. Also, Bridgeport Residents Ticket holders do not have access on Thursday. Thursday is a “bonus” day for folks purchasing a Weekend Camping Pass.

But my favorite band is playing Thursday!

We are very sorry, but there is no “Thursday only” ticket. You must purchase a Weekend Camping Pass or VIP Weekend Camping Pass to enter Thursday.

RV Passes

I want to bring my RV that is 25 feet or more in length to Vibes.

Then you need an RV Pass in addition to your Camping Passes. Any RV or combined car-pulling-a-trailer set-up that is over 25 feet in length must have an RV Pass. RV Passes are sold on a first-come-first-served basis and sell-out quickly! Purchase them through our on-line store as you would purchase tickets. Please see “this link” at the top of the page. Remember that each person in the RV must also have a Weekend Camping Pass (including the driver).

What does my RV Pass include? Do I also need to purchase Camping Passes?

Your RV Pass allows you to bring in your RV or other combined car-pulling-a-trailer set-up that is 25 feet or more in length. Each person who enters in the RV must also have a Weekend Camping Pass (including the driver). Did we mention that RV Passes are sold on a first-come-first-served basis and sell out quickly?! There are no specific location reservations for RV parking. This includes VIP RV Pass holders.

What if my RV is under 25 feet long?

If your RV is under 25 feet long, bumper to bumper (including the tow vehicle), you do not need to purchase an RV Pass and you may camp in the general camping areas; however, you may not run a generator. We’re sorry about that but the only place you may run an RV generator is in the RV Pass parking area.

I have a pop-up trailer. Can I bring that in without an RV Pass?

If the combined length of your car (or truck) plus the length of the trailer are under 25 feet long, you do not need an RV Pass. We do NOT count the trailer only. We go by combined length beginning from your vehicle’s front bumper to the very back of the trailer.

What about driving directions?

Keep an eye out for an e-mail with RV directions. This will be sent to you when we get closer to the show. Many of the roads to get to Seaside Park have low-lying bridges which make RV travel difficult. Please make sure to print the directions out and take them with you before you get on the road!

Print-At-Home Tickets

I ordered my tickets and have not received them yet. When should I expect my tickets?

Your ticket confirmation and print-at-home tickets (two e-mails), generally appear in your inbox within three hours after you place your order and should take no more than 24 hours.

It goes a little something like this:

1. Once you place your order we will e-mail you both a confirmation e-mail and the actual ticket(s) (Note: these are two separate e-mails that may not arrive at the same time)
2. You confirmation e-mail will contain your purchasing information
3. Your ticket comes as an PDF attachment that you need to print out. If you ordered more than one ticket, your e-mail will contain more than one PDF attachment

If do not receive both e-mails, please check your spam, junk mail, and trash folders in your e-mail program in case they ended up there. If you absolutely do not have a record of your tickets after 24 hours, please call the office as soon as possible at (203) 908-3030.

I bought a ticket from a friend, off CraigsList, off E-bay, from my ex. Is that ticket good?

Each print-at-home ticket has a unique bar code. When you get to the gate at Vibes, your bar code will be scanned and then no one else can use it. If you purchase a ticket from someone, please make sure it is someone you know and trust. If someone sells you a copy of a ticket and there is more than one copy, whichever copy of that ticket is through the gate first is the only valid ticket.

If you get to the gate and your bar code has already been scanned, there is nothing we can do. We do not want that to happen. At the gate, it doesn’t matter whose name is on the ticket; if your ticket comes up already scanned you will have to purchase a new ticket at full price at the gate.

Please exercise caution when buying from an unknown source.

Now that you’re doing print-at-home tickets, I don’t have a souvenir ticket stub. How can I get one?

We are aware that many of you collect your show tickets. Now that we have moved to print-at-home tickets, do not despair! We have commemorative tickets available at the Vibes Merch Tent. Just pop over to the big white tent, at the entrance to the main concert field, and ask for your commemorative ticket. Please, one ticket per wristband. That way we will have enough for everyone.

Ticket Specials

I live in the city of Bridgeport and heard I can get discounted Bridgeport Resident Tickets, is this true?

It is! Bridgeport Resident Tickets are non-camping tickets. You may attend Vibes, during the day, for a discounted rate. Here are the details: Resident Tickets are only on sale at the gate. You must show photo ID with a Bridgeport address. Resident ticket holders may not come in on Thursday. Resident Tickets are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Day Tickets only. The cost is $75 for a three-day pass. That’s all three days for one low price!

One ticket per resident. No access to the camping areas or Late Night Stage. You must buy the Weekend Camping Pass for Thursday entry, to access the camping areas, or to see the music on the Late Night Stage. There are no discounted Weekend Camping Passes.

What if I just moved to Bridgeport and my ID is not updated yet?

Welcome to the neighborhood! If you just moved to Bridgeport, please present a government issued photo ID along with a utility bill (e.g., CL&P bill, phone bill). The first and last name on your ID must match the first and last names on the utility bill to be sufficient for proof of residency. One ticket per resident.

I heard I can get a discounted ticket if I am a veteran or serving in the military. Is this true?

First, thank you for your service. We’re happy you can join us at the Vibes! All veterans with a DD214 and Active Military with current Military ID may purchase tickets at the Bridgeport Resident rate of $75. Please read the above description for the Bridgeport Resident Ticket. Military discount tickets do not include camping, Thursday entry, or access to the Late Night Stage. One ticket per ID please.

I heard I can get a discounted ticket if I work directly for the City of Bridgeport.

Yes! Employees of the City of Bridgeport receive the exact same offer as Bridgeport residents. Please read the above description for the Bridgeport Resident Ticket. Employees must show their valid City of Bridgeport employee photo ID when they purchase their tickets at the gate. One ticket per ID.

Ticket Upgrades and Access to the Late Night Stage

I bought Single Day Tickets. Now I'm thinking I want to camp. Can I upgrade? How about to VIP?

Provided tickets are still available, you may call the office and upgrade your Single-Day Ticket to a Weekend Camping Pass or to VIP at any time in advance of the show. You may also upgrade your ticket at the gates, provided we haven’t sold out.

Can I see the acts on the Late Night Stage with a Single-Day Ticket?

You must buy the Weekend Camping Pass or a VIP Single-Day Ticket for access to the Late Night Stage. Single-Day Tickets and Bridgeport Resident Ticket holders do not have access to the Late Night Stage.

General Camping

Can I camp if I’m just coming for one day? I will leave first thing in the morning.

In order to camp even one night at Vibes, you must purchase a Weekend Camping Pass. Single-Day Tickets do not allow access to the campgrounds or the Late Night Stage.

Can I camp next to my car?

As much as possible we will try to camp everyone next to their car, space and weather permitting

Can I camp with my friends?

Sure! If you want to camp with your friends, you must caravan to the show and drive in together.

Can I camp Sunday night and leave first thing Monday morning?

Everyone must leave on Sunday evening, after the Main Stage music ends. Sadly, there are no exceptions.

What are my grilling and/or stove options?

Both charcoal and propane grills are permitted. All propane cylinders must be sized 20 pounds (5 gallons) or less and must be certified. All propane cylinders must be re-certified 12 years after manufacture date and every 5 years thereafter (see you local propane dealer for more details). Any grill or stove must be accompanied by a fire extinguisher that is valid for 2012.

What about open-pit campfires, tiki torches, and chinese lanterns?

For everyone’s safety we cannot allow open-pit campfires, tiki torches or chinese lanterns. You may, however, bring charcoal and/or propane grills and stoves to cook on. They must be accompanied by a fire extinguisher that is valid for 2012. Please see grilling question above.

I want to leave Vibes on foot to get more supplies/food/beer.

You are welcome to leave site as you wish to get more supplies. (On foot is a great choice, we also recommend local taxi-cabs, as leaving and reentering via car is strongly discouraged).

However, please keep in mind, we do not allow outside food, coolers or alcohol of any kind into the general attendee/concert area, this is only permitted in the camping areas. Once you are done with your excursion, if you are camping on the East Side of the festival please enter at North Grove Box office, near the Arches, and go directly into the campground with your cooler or alcohol. Likewise, if you are camping on the West Side, you have to enter on the West. You may either return to the Arches and take a shuttle over or have your taxi-cab driver to drop you off at the Mid-West Camping Entrance.

Don’t forget to leave your wristband on! You will not be allowed back in with a wristband that has been removed, cut, etc.

Designated Camping Locations

Can I choose where I camp? Or reserve a space ahead of time?

For general camping, there is no way to determine where you will be camped until you get to Vibes.

I will have children with me and would like to camp in a Family Friendly area. How can I reserve a spot?

Vibes prides itself on being one of the most family-friendly music fesitvals in the business. Please e-mail FamilyCamping@gatheringofthevibes.com with your request. We will be happy to accommodate you on a first-come-first-served basis. Please check out our “Kids and Families” page for info on all our great kids and teens activities!

I don’t have kids but I want a quieter camping experience. Should I camp in Family Camping?

You may camp in Family Camping but this does not guarantee it will be quiet! There will be very young children who most likely wake up early, babies crying at night, etc. It will be a different camping experience, but not necessarily “quiet.” If you want to sign up, please see the instructions above.

I have a DMV Handicap parking placard. Is there an area to camp closer to the concert field?

We do have a Handy Camping area. To qualify for Handy Camping, you need a state issued DMV placard or a letter from your doctor explaining your limited mobility issue. We will accommodate as many campers as possible but Handy Camping fills up before the show. Please register early to guarantee a spot!
E-mail your request to HandyCamping@gatheringofthevibes.com. Please limit one Handy Pass per request as this area fills up quickly.

I would like to camp in a sober area. How can I do this?

Every year, the Wharf Rats set up a sober camp somewhere in the Family Camping area. This year, we are going to pre-register folks for sober camp. Please send your request to SoberCamping@gatheringofthevibes.com.

Transportation, Shuttles, Parking, Hotels, and Travel

I need to leave the venue with my car and drive back in. What is the procedure for this?

Re-entry by car is discouraged.
If you must leave the venue, by car or on foot, please leave your wristband on. You will not be allowed back in with a wristband that has been removed, cut, etc.
There will be no way to leave the venue by car during the main ingress during Thursday/Thursday night.
If you need to leave Thursday evening, please plan to leave your car outside of the venue in one of our Day Parking lots and take a shuttle.

We will do our best to return you near your camp area when you re-enter, but that is not always possible. The safety of your fellow VibeTribe comes first!

We Encourage These Alternatives to Re-Entry by Car

  • Park in the Day Parking Lots and take the Shuttle.
  • Take a cab from the Arches area to and from your off site location.

These methods are much safer for all attendees.

I am coming just for the day. Where do I park?

There will be several lots for Day Parking and each will have shuttle service to and from Vibes. When you get close to the venue, please follow the signs to the Day Parking Lots. No one should have to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes for a shuttle. Shuttles will run from 9:00AM until 4:00AM. Your parking fee will include unlimited shuttle rides for that day.

I am a Bridgeport Resident but I need to drive to the show. Where do I park?

There will be several lots for Day Parking and they all will have shuttle service to and from Vibes. When you get close to the venue, please follow the signs to the Day Parking Lots. No one should have to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes for a shuttle. Shuttles will run from 9:00AM until 4:00AM. Your parking fee will include unlimited shuttle rides for that day.

I am staying at a hotel. Are there shuttles running to and from the venue?

If you booked a hotel at one of the selections we have on our website, then we will be providing shuttle service for a nominal fee. For $20 per person, you can ride the shuttle from your hotel to the show, as many times as you like all weekend! Here is our “Hotel Page” with info on booking your hotel reservation today.

I’m taking the Port Jefferson Ferry or the Metro Train/Bus to Vibes. Can I get a shuttle from there?

Yes, we will have free Shuttles running from Thursday through Sunday, to and from both the Port Jefferson Ferry and the Bridgeport Transit Center (train and bus). Hours to be posted closer to the event.

Which airports are closest to the venue?

  • Tweed New Haven Regional Airport — HVN — 22.9 mi (30 minutes to Vibes)

  • LaGuardia Airport — LGA — 54 miles (75 minutes to Vibes)

(all travel times are approximate and, of course, dependent on time-of-day and traffic conditions)

How do I find directions to the show?

The best directions are on our directions page. They will be posted a couple of weeks before the show. We also have very clear signage from any entry point to Bridgeport.

What is the GPS address for Seaside Park?

We discourage use of your GPS since we actually change the direction of a couple of one-way streets. Please check the link in the answer above closer to show time for up to date directions.

Vendor Application Process

What if I just want to set up a blanket in the camping area and sell a few T-Shirts?

You need to be approved and pre-registered by our vendor coordinator to vend anything at Vibes. No approval, no vending. Check out our Craft Vending Page for more info.
