Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe
For nearly three decades, Karl Denson has been electrifying adoring audiences around the world. He was a member of Lenny KravitzÍsband and garnered critical acclaim as one of the founders of boogaloo revivalists The Greyboy Allstars. More recently, Denson joined Slightly Stoopid, while his primary creative vehicle, Tiny Universe, has become a major festival and club attraction. The album is his debut on Slightly StoopidÍs record label, Stoopid Records, and his first recording since 2009 with the Tiny Universe. Alongside Denson originals like the title track andñEverybody Knows That,î which have become fan favorites from his live sets, he offers up searing versions of ñSeven Nation Armyî by The White Stripes, ñHang Me Up To Dryî by Cold War Kids and ñSure Shotî by The Beastie Boys. HeÍs joined by a number of special guests, including Mike Dillon, The Cosmic Horns and Nicki Bluhm who adds vocals to the first single ñMy Baby.î In DensonÍs own words: ñWeÍve finally figured out how to capture in the studio what the Tiny Universe does live. We move around a lot musically, but this record reflects who we are as a band and where weÍre headed with our music!î
